Are you new to the church or the area? If so, you are very welcome! Please check out our New to Church page which has some helpful information for you.

We are a group of ordinary people who believe that church is a great place to make friends and experience God together. We are a family who believe that church should not only be great fun but also a place where lives are radically transformed.

Too often as Christians we still think like natural people, forgetting the gift of the Spirit that we have been given, which encourages us to seek God’s own wisdom, and forms in us the life of Jesus by his Spirit.

A Little Bit More
Lent is an opportunity for becoming a more Christ-like Christian. It is about getting serious with God.
What must I do?
This is a commonly asked question. Rather, the more important question is what do we believe?

Safeguarding

We are committed to Safeguarding Children, Young People, Victims of Domestic Abuse and Vulnerable Adults. Details of our safeguarding policy can be found here.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday.

Worship

Sundays

We run three different types of events on Sundays at FBC.

Morning Worship, our regular service, on all but the first Sunday of the month.

Cafe Church, a more informal and simple service on the first Sunday of the month.

The Evening Gathering, a time to receive from God by his Holy Spirit through teaching, worship and prayer, every second Sunday of the month at 7pm.

Each of these has it's own character, but they have some things in common.

We meet at:
The Meeting Place, St Mary's Road, Faversham, Kent, ME13 8EH

There is parking available in the Institute Road car park behind our building.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access from the rear of the building, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it.  There is a disabled toilet just outside the main worship area.

On Sunday mornings the church is usually open from 9.45am and people generally arrive from about 10.15am onwards.  The entrance to the church is from St Mary’s Road, through the big doors at the top of the stone steps on the right hand side.

Whichever of our events you come to, you can expect a warm welcome and you are free to sit wherever you like. The services are relaxed and informal and Morning Worship and Cafe Church are suitable for all ages.

For more details of each of our Sunday events, check out the relevant page.

What about my children?

If you have children that you would like to bring to church, we run a specific group just for children on most of our Sunday mornings.  Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, and songs.  We really value worshipping God all together as a family.  At this point someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their group.  If it's your first time, you will need to go with your children to their group and register them as part of our child safety policy.

We also have groups for children during the week, including Butterflies Parents and Toddlers and BB - an activity club for boys and girls. For young people of secondary school age there is Hope Faversham Youth.

Getting Connected

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone.  Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other.  We have a couple of groups that meet throughout the week.  Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
